Qvevri - a colossal clay vessel from Georgian, primarily used for making wine via grape fermentation
8000 years of wine making history in Georgia
The big vessel above is a qvevri - an extraordinary clay vessel that has shaped the rich heritage of Georgian winemaking for millennia. These vessels are handcrafted, often colossal and some are capable of holding up to 10 tons of grape juice.

Georgians have been following this methodology for over 8000 years, if you are non-believer, ask UNESCO; this methodology is listed as Georgia’s intangible cultural heritage and gift to the world.

On the picture to the right, there sit some qvevri. They are extraordinary clay vessels that have shaped the rich heritage of Georgian winemaking for millennia.

These vessels are handcrafted, often colossal and capable of holding up to 10 tons of grape juice.

Qvevris are typically buried completely underground, allowing the grape juice and musk to undergo fermentation at optimal temperatures and develop a delightful natural taste. This unique process enables the wine to breathe and form a profound connection with the earth.

Georgians have been following this methodology for over 8000 years, if you are non-believer, ask UNESCO; this methodology is listed as Georgia’s intangible cultural heritage and gift to the world.

Tata and Otar, founders of Kinto Natural
The Kinto Natural story
Tata and Otar, founders of Kinto Natural
Kinto Natural started with Otar and Tata’s friendship coupled with their  love for Georgian natural wine. We believe everyone should have the chance to experience its magic, which is why we created this project.

We are creating a business that serves itself and everyone who participates in making it happen, not just profit maximisation.

Kinto Natural was born from the friendship of Otar and Tata, united by their passion for Georgian natural wine.

We believe that everyone deserves to discover the enchantment of authentic Georgian wine, which inspired us to launch this initiative.

Otar, having lived in Berlin for the past seven years, offers a fresh perspective, while Tata, firmly rooted in Georgia, ensures our connection to our heritage. Together, we are dedicated to sharing the joy and wonders of natural products, beginning with Georgian wine and its rich traditions. We aim to challenge the traditional profit-sharing model. The old capitalist approach, where investors reap the majority of the profits without contributing effort, does not align with our values. At Kinto Natural, fairness is at the heart of everything we do. We are redefining the norms to guarantee that winemakers and their communities receive their rightful share. By investing in projects that enhance the craft, we ensure that each sip you take is part of a greater movement.
