Norah's Rkatsiteli, 2022
Amber wine
Tax included.
Liquid honey, toasted walnuts, ripe dried fruit — skin-contact, qvevri-fermented (clay), nothing added - pure amber wine.
Fermented on skins in qvevri — 100+ year old clay vessels buried underground — using only wild yeasts, no sulphites added. The result is the deep amber colour, textured mouthfeel, and layered complexity that tank-fermented whites simply can't produce.
On the palate: Kakhetian honey up front, giving way to walnut, dried apricot, and a long warm finish. Round and structured, with genuine ageing potential.
Pairs with aged cheese, walnut dishes, roasted vegetables, grilled aubergine.
Rkatsiteli is Georgia's most important white grape, cultivated in Kakheti for thousands of years. This is its truest expression — not the thin versions grown in France or California, but the full-bodied amber original from the variety's homeland.
Label by Georgian artist Barbara Aslamazi (@barbara_aslamazi).
